About Me

Welcome to Nourish 911! My name is Madelyn and I am excited to get to know you! I have a B.S in Nutrition and Dietetics from NDSU (Go Bison!) and have worked in EMS for over 8 years. I am a mom of two feral boys and live in Minnesota. I grew up in SE Wisconsin and my mom always preached about the importance of breastfeeding. If I am being honest, I ignored her for a while until I had my first child. I struggled with my pregnancy, breastfeeding initiation, and the postpartum period. When I returned to work, pumping on the ambulance was not an easy experience, and my 3 month old was at home crying because he thought bottles were trying to kill him. I became VERY familiar with MN pumping statutes and helped others advocate for themselves in the workplace. My baby learned how to take a bottle with minimal protest, and has now moved on to protesting other toddler things like bedtime. Strong willed toddler parents unite!

I eventually obtained my lactation counselor certificate (CLC) from the Healthy Children project and began to provide support to my friends and family in my free time.

I enjoyed helping my family and friends so much that when I was pregnant with my second child, I decided to take my education a step further and enroll in an IBCLC Pathway 2 program. I believe everyone should have access to quality lactation support. I am eligible to test for the exam in the Spring of 2025.

Nourish 911 was created to help guide parents in their feeding goals, but also to help educate and support parents so they can have a stronger bond with their partner, their baby, and their family.
